My Favorite Quotes
I liked that facebook has a favorite quotations page, so I thought I'd duplicate it on my blog. These quotations are ones I find interesting which need either more reflection or are reminders to myself. They are more representative of what I'm working on, not what I've accomplished.
"There is nothing on this earth more to be prized than true friendship. "
-- Saint Thomas Aquinas
"Above all, let your love for one another be intense, because love covers a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without complaining. As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God's varied grace. Whoever preaches, let it be with the words of God; whoever serves, let it be with the strength that God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong glory and dominion forever and ever."
-- 1st Peter 4: 8-11
"If I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.
If I give away everything I own, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind.
Love yields it's own way.
Love bears and endures all things.
Love believes and hopes all things.
Love never ends."
-- 1st Corinthians 13: 1-13
“Aspire not to have more, but to be more.”
-- Archbishop Oscar Romero
“Take a corpse and place it wherever you want. You will see that it doesn’t resist being moved, it doesn’t complain about its position, it doesn’t cry out if it is allowed to lie there. If it is placed on a chair, it won’t look up but down; if it is clothed in purple, it looks twice as pale. This is true obedience: not to ask why you are moved, not to care where you are placed, not to insist on being changed somewhere else.”
-- St. Francis of Assisi describing the truly obedient person
